Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Agniveer Vayu Intake 01/2027, candidates must meet the following minimum conditions as prescribed in the official notification:

1. Nationality

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Marital Status

  • Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible.
  • Selected candidates must undertake not to marry during the four-year engagement period.
  • Female candidates must also undertake not to become pregnant during the engagement period.

3. Educational Qualification

Candidates should fulfil any one of the following:

Science Stream Eligibility:
  • Passed 10+2/Intermediate or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and English from a recognised board with minimum 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
    OR
  • Passed a three-year Engineering Diploma (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, IT, Instrumentation Technology) with 50% aggregate, including 50% in English.
    OR
  • Passed a two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocational subjects with 50% marks and 50% in English.
Other Stream Eligibility:
  • Passed 10+2/Intermediate in any stream with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.
  • OR Passed a two-year vocational course with 50% marks and 50% in English.

4. Age Limit

  • Born between: 01 January 2006 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive).
  • Maximum age on enrolment: 21 years.

Selection Process

The selection of Agniveer Vayu candidates includes multiple phases to assess fitness, capability, and suitability:

  1. Written Examination – Computer-based test covering subjects like reasoning, English, general awareness, and basic knowledge.
  2. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) – Measurements such as height, weight and chest.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Endurance and fitness assessment.
  4. Adaptability Tests 1 & 2 – Checks motor skills and suitability for Air Force service.

Terms of Engagement and Benefits

  • Engagement Duration: Four years of service under the Agnipath Scheme.
  • Training: Military training and skill development as per IAF requirements.
  • Pay & Allowances: Monthly package starting around ₹30,000 with applicable allowances (Risk & Hardship, Dress, Travel, etc.).
  • Seva Nidhi Package: Lump-sum amount payable on completion of four years as per scheme norms.
  • Further Enrolment: Based on performance, up to 25% of the intake may be considered for enrolment as regular Airmen.
